I had the pleasure of doing somewhat of a ride-along with a locksmith from The Lockman recently. Jason Erwin is a well-educated locksmith that made what I assumed would be a complicated job seem easy. I watched as he rekeyed an entire home for a family getting ready to move into their new rental home. I learned a lot while watching Jason rekey the locks of the entire home. Believe it or not, getting your home’s locks rekeyed is simple. On my visit with Jason, we were there for less than an hour. Of course, it depends on the number of locks you need to be rekeyed. Jason takes the locks he is rekeying out to his van that literally has every tool imaginable to rekey your locks. While in the van, he replaces the tumblers and pins to create a lock that your brand-new key can open. Once he has the locks ready for the new key, he simply re-installs the locks in the doors, and you are good to go.  

Is it Expensive to Rekey an Entire Home? 

It is cheaper to rekey your home than to change out the locks on your home, and you are receiving a very similar service.
